Butterflies Morpho

Nymohalidae belongs to the family, subfamily Morphinae, morphini tribe, with a wing LENGTH 40 to 87 mm. Butterflies often iridescent colors, the eggs are hemispherical and the female gets lonely in the beam of the leaves, although in South America, in some species of the genus Morpho lay eggs in groups. The larvae are colorful, with brushes of red and white hairs to dorso.Los adults feed on rotting fruit, peel and fermented fluids vines, fungi and carroña.Esta tribe found in the neotropics and comprises 41 species. In Costa Rica is home to 10 species.

Siproeta

Belongs to the family Nymphalidae, species Kallimini Nymphalinae subspecies. Butterflies of varying sizes, from small to large. They also have a variety in color and pattern of the wings.

LFemales lay eggs singly or in groups and these are spherical, conical or barrel shaped. The larvae may have humps, bumps, spines or filaments and abundant fleshy mushrooms secondary. They are solitary or gregarious and construct silken shelters and leaves of host plants.

This family is found worldwide except in Antarctica and the Arctic and includes one third of all diurnal species with about 6000 species. In Costa Rica, live 460 species and 59 species of the subfamily Nymphalinae.
